Rhel 3.0

Whenever I do a uname -a

I get the following:

2.4.21-4.0.2.ELsmp #1 SMP

Does this equate to RHEL 3.0 or RHEL 2.8 or what?

I thought the RHEL3.0 was 2.6 kernel??

Ok so my releases file states

Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon)

That much I have figured out.

So is this Advanced Server release 3 (Taroon) also called "RHEL 3.0" ??

Must be, you'll find alot of distros for servers will be running 2.4 kernels because of stability.
