RedHat 8.0 on a Dell Dimension 4100
Ok guys, I have a problem.
It is not the first time I put red hat on my computer. I put 6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and now I am trying to put 8. I never had any issue except until 7.3. When I perform a custom install and create a boot disk, the boot failed. I see something that tells me that the APM is loaded and it never pass it. Locks there... Any idea of what is the next step? pat |
Try disabling APM? I'd first try disabling the startup of the apm daemon. If that doesn't help you could try disabling apm in the kernel.

Yeah, I put apm=off inside the grub.conf file and it worked.
But then my usb intelli mouse didn't work so I had to specify PS/2 mouse and it work. But now my sound card won't work... Man, 7.2 was much better and much faster ... Thanks a lot. |
