RedHat 8.0 on a Dell Dimension 4100

Ok guys, I have a problem.

It is not the first time I put red hat on my computer. I put 6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and now I am trying to put 8.

I never had any issue except until 7.3. When I perform a custom install and create a boot disk, the boot failed.

I see something that tells me that the APM is loaded and it never pass it. Locks there...

Any idea of what is the next step?

Try disabling APM? I'd first try disabling the startup of the apm daemon. If that doesn't help you could try disabling apm in the kernel.

Yeah, I put apm=off inside the grub.conf file and it worked.

But then my usb intelli mouse didn't work so I had to specify PS/2 mouse and it work.

But now my sound card won't work...

Man, 7.2 was much better and much faster ...

Thanks a lot.
