RedHat 8.0 multiple sound outputs

Arg, this was posted on the hardware section for I didn't see this forum.

Ok, how do I make xmms and flash and whatever uses sound output to play? I am using aRTs. To give you a better idea to what I am saying : If I run xmms and goto a website that plays sound the flash will not produce any sound. However If I stop xmms the queue for sound ends and the flash plays sound. How do I get rid of this?

I have the same issue, after a song finishes in XMMS, all the queued sounds from other programs play. Very annoying

After ages of looking for the answer to the Qn, i found that it was XMMS.. There is a plug in which will fix it. its called xmms-esd. there are lots, just get the one for your version... I think there. also. for other programs.. you might have to tell them to use esdplay to play the sounds..
