redhat 7.3 installing dependency
Hello, i have installed redhat 7.3, i tried to install program from a tar file, i did ./configure and found i needed some other file gcc etc. I would also get this thrying to install other normal rpm files
I tried to install some the files but would get .......needs file xyz. Now with suse, mandrake the package manager would automatically install dependency files, how can i get redhat to do this? Mandrake 8.2 is crap and won't recognise hardware (8.1 would), suse is beyond budget at the moment but may try and raise funds. |
Doesn't kpackage (KDE package manager) do this automatically? Or was it the GNOME package manager? Can't remember... I resolve my dependencies manually.
Why didn't you install gcc?! Linux without gcc is like Windoze without the GUI. :p |
You won't get a distro to install packages for you if you are installing a gz file...
However, if kpackage should take good care of you.. |
ok i have tried kpackage to install gcc and gcc c++ but i get the following error message and no means of installing dependency files automatically.
