I run dual boot with RH 7.2 and Win Me. When i reboot from Me everything is fine, but when i reboot from RH there is a problem. When the BIOS screen shows up, it counts the RAM ( which it should not do because I have Quickboot enabled ), and the last thing it does is detect the mouse. After that the floppy light turns on ( and stays on ), then a few seconds later the cylinder light turns on. The keyboard does not work, so I can't do eni thing. So I maunally shut the damn thing off. If eni one is genius enough to know what is up with the system please reply ( before i smash this machine ). By the way, even before I installed RH the same thing happened. I was installing from the CD and I ctrl-alt-del the thing. It spit out the disc, rebooted and the same exact thing happened. Maybe it's not a prob with the OS but sumthing else? Who knows.

How could this be a problem with the OS? You say that all of these BIOS errors happen only when you boot into RH and Not WinME? BIOS is initialized before either OS is loaded, are you sure you're not talking about RedHat's Boot Sequence and not the System's BIOS. And like you said above, these problems were happening before you installed RedHat, so how could this be related? You need to clarify what's going on, but more than likely it sounds like your PC is hosed at the Hardware level, not the OS's.
I've had the same problem, but not outside linux (I'm running multiboot w/ Linux & WinME). RedHat 7.2 freezes during reboot. Windows (any version) reboots just fine.
Mandrake 8.1 didn't have this problem, but Mandrake 8.2 does (same results as RH 7.2). I'm wondering if they are using a different method to invoke the reboot.
I also had to power off the machine with the power button (manually). But I've never had any other problem. So I really doubt it's completely a BIOS issue, but how the OS interacts with the BIOS (invoking the restart).
If anyone has info on this issue, I'd like to know.
My machine is: COMPAQ Presario 1210us (notebook)
850Mhz AMD Duron / 128MB PC133 RAM
