Redhar 6.2 on Dell Inspiron 8200
During installation, I get the following error msgs when loading Redhat 6.2 onto the Dell 8200. It occurs just before I am getting ready to select the packages for installation (when the installation is reading the package information). A
"Exception Occurred" window comes up that says: Traceback (innermost last): File "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 342, in ? Try Red Hat 6.0 as 6.0 doesn't use anaconda

After many, many years...
I've been playing with a retro software proof of concept (installing Oracle 8i on RH62). The issue was pretty common at the time, since anaconda was a very new thing (see resources in the linked guide below). Solution was either to `s/i786/i?86/g` from `RedHat/instimage/usr/lib/rpm/rpmrc` on the install media --or-- to do that against the stage 2 installer image from `RedHat/base/hdstg2.img`. Fortunately, ramdisks and installer images were still ext2 at the time, so you could simply mount and edit it as such.
