# startkde or startgnome or startwindowmaker or starticewm
I remember having to ctrl+alt+F7 to get to the graphical display after startx and startkde, usually it's automatic though, but that wasn't Mandrake 9.1 though...
A little offtopic, but still Mandrake 9 question. I use Mandrake 9.0 and I wonder if 9.1 comes with some sort of joystick support. It's the only thing left for me to kick WinXP out of my systems and give some gigas to the little penguim lol.
About our friend asking for Mandrake instead of RedHat it's way to go. The packages which comes in Mandrake's CD's is all you will need instead of search all over the google net to find a good player or a good messanger... Go for it buddy ...
Well I know at least 9.1 has correctly detected my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro USB joystick (havent tested it yet mind ) so I think there's probably support for all common joysticks, and then generic x-buttoned types too
I also have Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro usb joystick and it was correctly detected by Red Hat 9 and Mandrake 9.1.....
So.... Proud is probably right.....
I would have to agree with everybody above switch from RH9 to Mandrake 9.1 very user friendly and faster, I'm back to using KDE which I prefer since RH9 KDE was very slow, GNOME was alright.
Plus it was so nice not having to look for plugins all over the net to get the multimedia working, for a Desktop system I would suggest to anybody to give Mandrake a try.
Hi! I've got Mandrake 9.1 installed with LILO. What is the boot option 'failsafe' in LILO? Cheers! Also does anyone know how to move a certain boot option to the top of the list so that it will be chosen automatically if left idle?
