hi. i have linux red hat 7.2 installed on my computer, but the only book i found at frys electronics , the latest, was red hat 7.1. i am a newbe and want to study red hat extensively, is there much difference between the 2 systems,or should i find a book on red hat 7.2. the red hat 7.1 book cost me $46, not cheap.
there's very little difference between any disro at the end of the day, you'd get just as much info out of a slackware manual really, expect a few twiddly gui bits wouldn't be in there.
have heard a lot about slackware, seems like a quite a few people here have it.some say it,s not for beginners , others tell me that its not that much difference.running suse 7.2 and red hat 7.2. might download slackware sometime and check it out.
