Red Hat 6.2 Installation Problems

I'm trying to Install Red Hat 6.2 to dual boot on my machine with Windows 2K Server.

I created a /boot partition (62 meg) as a primary followed by my windows drive (35GB) as another primary.
Then I have the rest of my linux drives as logical:
root = 15GB (tried 2GB too),Swap = 2GB, /usr = 15GB

I get up to the point in installation where it is going to read package information (not even to where I can select the packages though) and it crashes everytime.

I wanted to use LILO as my boot loader but I've tried setting it in the MBR as well as boot partition.

I'm using a newer machine with an Intel Xeon. Do older versions of Red Hat have issues with newer hardware, or am I configuring something wrong?

my guess is your hardware (as in it is probably new), have you tried installing it on another machine with that same media ?
