I am a usual Linux user, and after tried many distributions (Red Hat, Slackware, Mandrake, Suse, Conectiva, Corel, etc.) i think Red Hat is the best distribution for an advanced desktop computer (let's say a multi purpose computer)
I think that most will suffice. Over time, you make subtle changes to your distro, so it shouldn't really matter - they'll all change!
Personally, I run Mandy but I have installed stuff from all sorts of others, and from sources, and edited and changed stuff so that it really doesn't look much like a Mandy distro.

Great! Then that is what you should use. A lot of people agree with you.
The only time I disagree with somebody's choice of the best distro for them, is when they think ALL DISTROS must be like the best choice for them.
I hope you continue to enjoy your distro, okasion.
