Radeon 9000
 

I am having big trouble getting startx to load. I am a linux newbie and just started yesterday at trying to get it working. I have downloaded ati drives and forced installed them because my friend told me how but i am still stuck. It keeps saying no screens. Also i did config the drivers and it still did not work. Please help me.:cry:

hi,i have an ati radeon 9000 pro,but the system detected it at the installation. didn't your system detected it as well?
i'm afraid you have installed an older version (if you have installed from ati website) 'cause they haven't developed new drivers since November 29, 2002
are you using latest mandrake distro?

I have installed mandrake 9.1 and it found my video card and it called it a radeon. I tried it with different drivers and settings and it did not work at all. I reinstalled mandrake 6 times to try to get it right and it still did not. Any help would be apprecaited. Also if you think I should Be using Mandrake 9.0 to get it setup proberly please tell me and also give me the links to where i can get it to.
