Questions about older versions of Linux at the Vmware museum #1

Hi guys, I have a question, you still don't have news about Debian 4.0 Etch right? I'll say something, how do I choose the monitor and video card for Mandrake 7.0, and also for Conectiva, Red Hat 7.2 and SuSE Linux 7.1? There is no VESA here, it has not been added yet, I want to install these old distros for the museum on VMware and VirtualBox? The card of the machine are generic, does it have the card and the generic monitor for the virtual machine without the VESA added for these distros? Help me!

Note: I'm not sarcastic and upsetting you, I'm just trying to help you!

Perhaps this thread may be a lead.

There were several different configuration tools to setup the x server configuration file like xf86config. I do have DOS 6.22 and Red Hat 9 running on VirtualBox but it has been awhile since I've played with them. Never tried messing with xf86 configuration.

Thankfully VESA was added on Red Hat Linux 7.3, and it's working perfectly on VMware. But for Mandrake 7.1 or 7.0, Which do I recommend that I select the Video Card that VESA has not yet added at that time? If it doesn't work on VMware, I'll try VirtualBox.

vmware, perhaps? Or vga? If the distro is so old that they were not there yet, then maybe XF86_SVGA? Or XF86_VGA16?
