Problems with red hat, should I try to download new version? Where?

Hi there....

I've been trying to install red hat (6.2, I think...) to my new computer, but I've had some problems: I cannot select packages in any part of installation, installing program stops when packages should be installed. I've installed linux from that cd to my old computer before. Partitions and all other stuff seems to be fine. So I was wondering if I could download new Red Hat and try to install that. The problem is I have to download a HUGE amount of data (about 4-5 iso files) with my isdn. I didn't find any smaller red hat distributions. If somebody knows smaller red hat distributions please send me a link. Or should I work out what's wrong with redhat 6.2 installation? I don't have any idea what could be wrong...

6.2 is from like almost 3 or 4 years ago, if this is a new computer, your probably going to have better hardware support with a newer version, which is 8.0 right now for Redhat. And you only need to download the first 3 iso's to install.
Or you can try another distro like Slackware which is a little harder if your new to Linux, but you can get away with only downloading one iso file to burn to a cd.
