Problem with yum update
I was doing a yum update and the machine hanged when it got to middle of cleanup one of the program. I had no choice but to restart the machine. Can someone tell me if the un-finished process has anyeffect on my system. Should I do anything to cleanup again. I am using Fedora 4. Thanks in advance for helping. Rickronn |

In some cases mirrors can get over-loaded causing yum to act extremely slow (even when you're not even installing something). By no means this will hurt your system since it's probably only downloading, calculating dependencies,... but not changing(installing/removing) anything. Just redo what you did and you should be fine. PS: Even on Core 5 I still use Apt for this since it's still the fastest tool around... |
Thanks Jens for your quick reply.
I'll try Apt as per your advise. Rickronn |
