Question Probing for monitor type: Unknown Monitor

Hi,

I am trying to install Redhat ES V3 on an old Compaq/HP Proliant 1600 and getting the following error messaged when Anaconda starts up.

Probing for Video Card: Cirrus Logic GD544x
Probing for monitor type: Unknown Monitor

Then the computer completely hangs!!

In the BIOS the video card comes up as a Cirrus Logic CL5446 I am not sure if this is the reason the install is failing?

Any ideas folks??

G

There should be a "no autoprobe" command you can pass to the installer at the boot prompt. I can't remember what it is - check your documentation.
