PPC Linux
Some of the distros available for the PPC(mostly macs) are Debian, Gentoo, Slackintosh, YellowDogLinux, Mandrake9.1 to name a few.
I have an iBook,
800Mhz, 256Mb RAM 30Gb Hd & a Radeon mobility 9200 32Mb
What I would like to know is which distro can get X to work at all?
Or can I get X to work myself by dsownloading the latest version of X.org & compiling myself?

Ibooks can be a pain due to the bus architecture, but thought it may be sorted on the newer ones (mostly probs with booting)
If you need more i will scan my severely groaning bookcase for info.
I am currently running my own lfs on a Quicksilver G4, that was built by first installing an old copy of PPCLinux.

I just said Gentoo, because a friend of mine uses it with his iBook G4 and it works fine.
(and I thought YDL supported your iBook?)

That's not what I read. ..
You can use a fbdev for your video. . . with YDL that is.

Once installed. . .
As root:
Xautoconfig --fbdev
Taken from here. . . the YDL hardware support page for YOUR iBook. Funny how I found it there eh?
