porting applications from suse to redhat

sir,
I would like to know that
a) What could be the possible reasons of posrting applications from SuSE to Redhat.
b) How this porting takes place on various files like
1)databases: oracle, DB2, Sybase
2)Application servers: Websphere, weblogic, tomcat
3)Custom C/C++ Applications
4)Web servers: Apache, Red Hat stronghold, Iplanet
5)Infrastructure: DNS, File/print, FTP, E-Mail
6)Messaging: Tibco, MQSeries
thanks

You really don't need to port those applications as they are made specifically for linux, not specific linux distributions. For example if I install Apache on a Slackware machine, I can use the same sources or binaries to install it on a RedHat machine.
