PLEASE HELP! URGENT! ".bashrc" Not executed
We use an RH7.3 as a client to log into an NIS server on a SuSe 9.0. The .bashrc and /etc/bashrc are not executed (not even .bash_profile). If we use a SuSe as the client then both are executed.
Any idea?

Well, the teo things that pop to mind are rather simple, but it is worth taking a few moments to check them out just to be sure.
First is to be sure that you are indeed starting in bash, two things to check for this are:
echo $SHELL
this should return bash, also check the /etc/passwd file, look for your unsername and check what shell is listed for your user.
The next idea to check is the permisions and ownership of the .bashrc file
