Unhappy perl & modules

I would like to know why distros like Suse8.1 and Red Hat8.0 don't supply perl/Tk; perl-Mysql; and perl-DBI rpm files on there Cd's, DVDs, or download sites any more. The software (cam) pkg I use require these modules, but cannot find them tailored for the above distos.
The other distro I use is Mandrake 9.0. These mods are supplied on the Cd's and download sites. But will future releases.

I don't want to have to download all the sources and dependencies and compile them.

Now I know why I never liked Red Hat.

The only way to get the most current version of some of these modules is to connect to Perl's site and download them using CPAN. IMHO Perl has always handled their own version control, and they've handled it quite tightly. My guess is that the packages that came with Mandrake are out of date compared to a RedHat machine where this software was installed from CPAN.
