Peanut Linux: problem installing

Hello I just downloaded Peanut linux took me forever too because I'm on dialup. Anyways I burned it boot from the CD and get to the boot: menu and I just hit enter to install from the CD and linux starts checking out my hardware but when it gets to the line that says 'SCSI subsystem revision 1.0' the system freezes. Please can someone tell me a way that I can get around this that doesn't involve downloading another distro. This is the second one I've tried other was red hat 6.2 that one would terminate with a trace error.

Computer Specs(Gateway 400 Notebook)
Purchased: 8/02
CPU: Pent IV 2.0ghz
RAM: 256MB

I have my HD split into 3 partitions

hda1 (Win2k) aprox 3GB
hda2 (blank) aprox 4.5GB----this is where linux will go
hda3 (WinXP) aprox 12GB

Thanks,
Zantas

sorry that peanut isn't working out for you. i'll try to think of
something. maybe someone knows some stuff for you
to try.
useless post.

you could try to download a few of those 1, 2 or 3 floppy
linux rescue or bsd rescue disk sets, and see if you
can get one of them to boot. Peanut is probably just
one big tar.gz file, and if you can find a kernel that works
on your machine, you can probably extract the peanut,
and install a kernel that works that you may find instead.
