1.) PClinuxOS is offered on several download mirrors. I went to them, and most of them have two choices, one with "NV" in the name (a larger file) and one without. Can I assume that the NV choice just offers a few more features?
I have had a little play with PClinuxOS. As a LiveCD, it's fine. It beats Knoppix or MandrakeMove in my view.
I've tried twice to install it, the first time it corrupted the partition! Instead of reiserfs, I tried ext3, this time it seemed to install OK but OpenOffice would not run, crashing every time and no matter how I tried to run it.
I might give it another go. It has correctly detected my hardware, seems to have my Prism2_usb-based wlan going (for the first time, though I'll have to install it on my laptop also so that there is something to communicate with). You cannot select your own packages, but the default selection is excellent, and should be easily added to.
