PCLinuxOS & IPW2200

Pretty generic problem, I think. I've got my IPW2200 working in all the distros I've used before except PCLinuxOS. Fresh install this morning, haven't done anything except mess around trying to find out what's up here. The card is supposed to work plug in play for most people in PCLinuxOS. I guess I'm not one of the "most." :)

ifconfig doesn't seem to be showing my wireless card, so I'm guessing the module isn't loading on boot.

I've gone into PCLinuxOS Control Center > Hardware > Hardware > Run config tool, and when I try to configure my Wireless NIC (which it finds and identifies fine), and when I click Next, I get a window titled "drakconnect" that reads: "Unable to find network interface for selected device (using ipw2200 driver)".

Would it be better to go the ndiswrapper route?

Is your wireless card turned on at boot?

What version of PCLOS are you using? I had some trouble with .92 and IPW2200, but not to the extent you described. As of PCLOS 2007, I haven't had any problems with that chipset at all.

You are not on your own with this

I have exactly the same problem !! I'm hoping to use version 2009 but no luck with my wireless. It is switched on and does work "out of the box" with every other distro I've tried.
