i run a celeron 666/256 with debian sid and kde 3.4.slackware would have been my other choice for decent gui preformance.any distro with a minimalist wm would work just as well though.

Of the distros you listed, I really like h3knix, everything on it comes together easily, it's a pleasure to work with. All it needs is a larger selection of software to be really useful... I also *want* to like Frugalware but it's the opposite situation: it certainly has plenty of software, but I keep running into annoying little issues that stop me from giving it full thumbs up.
As for Arch, I've been using it for a while now and it is currently running on one machine I don't mess with too much - it's just there when I need it.

And, RobNYC - have a look at KateOS, it's a great little system, another of my favourite at the moment. You might like it too, since we seem to move in the same circles
It will rock on that Celeron!

I did not test any, but distros create by using linux live are great, fast and very stable... So I figured Mutagenix is my choice... and I have to test it as soon as possible to see if I can get soe ideas

I don't like Debian, so next choice probably will be PcLinuxOS

I can't say nothig about other developers, but I've seen many developers whose create own distros based on Slackware by using linux live scripts helping each other or any linux live based distro users...
It's great... We start to use linux live to create our own projects but never stop to help others to create their own... so, this is one reason because nowadays we have so many good Slackware based distros...
Mutagenix, gNOX and GoblinX are good projects, but we have to thank Tomas because he created linux live, a program that make very easy to create a livecd... and a way to thank is helping him and his own users...

I tried VectorLinux and it just won't work with any xorg.conf I try to use, I even used my old xorg.conf that I have saved and not even and it suppose to be the perfect distro for old pcs.

I cant get the distros over 650mb , my only cdrw is 650mb and my other are 700mb but are ultra-speed and this freakin cd-rw drive doesnt support that guess its wack but im suppose to get a dvd-rw dual-layer soon and some new cd-rw but im broke right now
