I'm trying to install Linux on a very old computer;
- Celeron 366
- 64Mb RAM
I've tried installing Ubuntu and PCLinuxOS but the livecd is so slow that it takes about 45mins to load the desktop so actually going through the install process would probably take hours!
What I would like to do is install one of these fine Linux distros via a more direct installation process, perhaps via a text based installation.
I'm pretty confident that I can get Linux running on this machine as I've had it running on something with specs only slightly higher and it would make a great beginners PC.
you might also want to try Deli Linux, I haven't tried it yet but will do so in the near future. It was made specifically for use on prehistoric hardware
