Question Newbie, wants to change distro

Hello everyone, only my 2nd post here.

I have been using the likes of Windows for a good 6 or 7 years, and had only on occasions used either RedHat or Mandrake, probably quite early versions though.

The other night, I installed LindowsOS 4. What can I say, I'm amazed . The system took just 5 minutes to install, no complicated setup to worry about, and it was ready to use. Funnily enough, I emailed the customer services at Lindows as to whether or not I would be able to get online through my wireless connection as my host PC is sharing through ICS on Windows XP. The reply to the email was: "No this is impossible" ....

I tried my luck for the sheer hell of it, and look - I'm here! My 1Mb/s cable account is being shared through 802.11b to my Lindows OS! I'm having a couple of problems though....

1) I cannot setup APM (I need step-by-step instructions )

2) I cannot install programs. Each program I try, says it can't fine [blah blah blah]. I follow the instructions, going through console, and it just doesn't do anything.

My reason of posting
I was wondering if there are any other major distro's around that are capable of getting online through the same wireless setup as I am now, and will happily run next to Windows XP? Currently, I have Windows XP on Partition0 as NTFS, and LindowsOS 4 on Partition1, and was pre-formatted as FAT32, and it is now it's own. LiLo presents me with a choice of the 2 OS's, and I would like to know the other distros that would allow me to do this.

Remember: Don't just guess like the LindowsOS Customer Services, LOL

Cheers all,
E

If one distro works using your wireless connection, there should be the same with all others. If you describe how you did it we can make sure you can safely installa any distro.

Your current partitioning scheme can be handles by any distro.
