Anybody have a date when the new redhat is supposed to be released? I know that Mandrake 9 is supposed to come out on the 16th, but I have not heard anythin about redhat.
It's best not to ask about the availability of new RedHat releases. Nobody knows outside of Red Hat. But RedHat puts out two releases a year, so it's probable that RedHat 8.0 (or whatever it is ) will be out between October and December.
I am now hearing (from one of RedHat's mailing lists) that it could be as soon as the end of the month -- apparently Rawhide hasn't changed in a while, and that may suggest that a freeze had taken place. But don't take this as gospel. Regardless, I am anxiously awaiting the final release like everyone else.
