My experience with Cobind Linux

I am a new Linux user, and have tried Linux in the past, but found it quite tough to get my teeth sunk in. Anyway, I got interested in Cobind Linux, mainly because of the lovely XFce interface. However, I must warn all new Linux users to avoid Cobind, until it matures. The distro seems to be so minimal, that most of the dependencies to install new applications aren't provided. It is however, a very good way to learn Linux, and fast, because your forced to play around with the command line.

Unfortunately I lost my patience with it, after I had to install 10+ dependencies, and dependencies of dependencies, trying to get Linux DC++ working. So, I have decided to grab a copy of Debian, and hopefully the apt-get tool everybody talks about will be my saviour.

In conclusion, don't use Cobind, until it matures!

Thanks for the review. Could I suggest that you submit this to the Distro Review section, it has less chance of being buried there.

And, since this is about a distribution, I have moved it to Linux-Distributions.

Finally, welcome to LQ :D
