Mundus OS (My own OS)

I am glad to announce that after year of constant work, I have created an OS (more like a variation of Ubuntu), which I call Mundus OS, that is an extension to Ubuntu which is easier to use for a new Linux user. Mundus OS can install Windows programs, mount Macintosh dmg's, install the packages of other non-Debian Linux distributions, and is meant to be "out of the box".
The Sourceforge page is here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mundusos/
The Wiki is here (which talks about the OS in full):
http://mundusos.wiki.sourceforge.net/
The screenshots are here:
https://sourceforge.net/project/scre...roup_id=268055
I should note that the desktop and themes and updates are all Ubuntu, I have added my own software and some other softwares which make Ubuntu much easier to use for a newbie who is transitioning from Windows or Mac to Linux.

Note: This OS is not at all meant to replace Ubuntu, only to promote Ubuntu and the Open-Source community.

I should note that the OS is in its Beta stages....

Congratulations on your efforts resulting in this release. Maybe next time you might want to offer as a /News article.

I have a few questions if I may. You say "the desktop and themes and updates are all Ubuntu" but also that you "have added your own software". Could you tell me if you have modified anything related to the original OS? And what "your own software" means and what license(s) they are released under? Will any changes (be documented and) made be available for download through your website?

Seems your link for the sourceforge page is down flouran....
Oh, how big is the install like 3gb +?

Also, how did the Bonzai_3_2 qemu thing go?
Did you get it installed or what?

I might be able to host Mundos if your having issues.

That's what I wanted to do! But I didn't know how unfortunately (since this is my first OS).

Ubuntu is a great and easy-to-use OS. I want the user to also feel comfortable with the system so, it is relatively unchanged. I would have changed the themes if I was able to provide my own updates. Otherwise, when a new Ubuntu update comes along, it will change the themes. In later releases, I may make my own updates, but remember, I have yet to find a team of people to help me out.

Some of the software I put on Mundus OS is of my own creation. I only use GPL :) One software which I included was: http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Deskt...er-39815.shtml

With every new release, I will document what I have changed.

Really, I tested it out today, and even clicked the link on the Wikipedia article for Mundus OS and it worked. Perhaps something on your end? If you go to sourceforge.net and type in Mundus OS, it will give you a link to it.

I decided to stray away from Bonzai unfortunately. But, I will certainly try out the Bonzia_3_2 qemu thing in the near future (and let you know how that goes)!

So far no issues, but I will keep your offer in mind. Thank you very much!
