Red Hat gets my vote thus far. If you have followed any of my saga on Newbie about missing mouse, Video crashes etc. It turns out that is was all Distro vs Hardware! I got my hands on RH6.0 yesterday. It installed on the same machine in 20 minutes(Mandy took a hour to install, then not run) and ran flawslessly first time out. Now I can really start to learn how to use it.
I ordered Mandy because all I read said it was the easiest to install and use. This proves there are no absolutes in our world.!!
I haven't given up on Mandrake, just retired it till it get my feet wet in Linux (Ankle deep anyway)!
i put mandy 8.1 in about a month ago, and i had no problems whatsoever....i don't know i guess it depends on the machine youre putting it on and what packages you put in because it only took about half an hour for me....
