Mandrake 9 no installation CDRom?
Hello,
I've downloaded 3 ISO-images Mandrake 9.0 When I try to install Mandrake, I get the question: "that CDRom disc does not seem to be a Mandrake Linux Installation CDRom. Retry with another disc". Of course cd 1 Mandrake is in my player. What does it mean?? |
It may be thet there was a download problem and you need to try it again. To make sure calculate checksums of the disks you've dowloaded using md5sum and compare them with the ones you can find in the directory you got the images from.
|
Checksums are the most common culprit, it may also be a burning problem. If you look at the CD from Windoze, do you see directories and files, or nothing?

Thanks for the suggestion.
I think it's not a burnig problem. All directories and files are there. |
insert mandrake 9 cd1 in windows environment again:
as u close the tray, mandrake 9 will load a mandrake 9 window with some options like install mandrake yadayadayada. if u don't see that msg, u might burned the cd2 twice?? because cd1 should bootup. if it does bootup it might be a corrupt cd as suggested |
Yes, problem is solved.
My fault was that I unpacked it with deamon-tools and then burned the files, with the result that the cd wasn't bootable anymore. Thanks for your help. |
