Mandrake 9.1, net connection problems

Hey all, just installed mandrake 9.1 last night, and although it detects my ethernet devices, it can't detect my connection to the internet which is on eth0. I have all the information (DNS Servers/DHCP Server/Default Gateway .etc) but i don't know where to input the values, the mandrake control center didn't prove to be too useful in that respect. If anyone could tell me how to input these values manually it would be greatly appreciated.

I also have no sound through my SB Live! Platinum, but i'm more interested in getting my net connection sorted first.

Will that work for a cable connection? I get my broadband through an NTL set top box on eth0.

Hi,

maybe you haven't entered it yet.
I have a cable modem too.

So if you want to add it in Mandrake control center: (I have it in german, and hope the translation of the options is OK)
go to network & internet
then go to the first one with DrakConnect,
use the assistent( hm, was that right?)
here the auto detection should already be enabled,go on
now a network card is found and LAN is suggested, but you choose cable modem
in the next screen you ebnable BOOTP/DHCP/.. -> finished

in the internet connection I have also entered my Gateway, for this I enabled the expert mode, but I'm not sure if this is necessary
and at LAN config (also with enabled expert mode) I have entered the netmask and you can check if DHCP is boot protocol and yes at start up.
