mandrake 9.1 help

I am having problems installing mandrake 9.1. When I get up to the "install updates" part, the installation hangs/freezes. One other thing is that I get a bunch of errors during installation, as in cannot read a certain file, continue anyway? It seems weird that I get those errors and I have not seen anyone else reporting similar errors.

Can anyone give me some help?

"there was an error installing packages: kernel-2.4.21.0.13mdk-1-1mdk.i586 Go on anyway?"
Ok apparently even though the installation hangs at the end of the installation i can still load mandrake.
however, im missing two shared libraries so I can't load kde. This is really annoying. I don't understand why my installation cd1 is messed up and no one else is having this problem.

I used to have problems like that, turned out to be the cd rom drive, not reading correctly.
Maybe try someone else reader.
