mandrake 9.0 freeze

i am new to linux,so decided to try mandrake.after install everything seemed ok but if i access mandrake control centre/hardware/hardware just locks up,everything else works ok.mebe it's a hardware problem.any ideas cause it's buggin me.thanx

I suggest you to install the package again - or upgrade to 9.1.

i spent a couple of days browsing these forums,done a new install then found out i had pnp enabled in bios,i disabled and things are ok,got my amr pctel modem working like a charm and installed nvidia drivers with sucess after a few bad attempts,now onto java.
thank you's go to everybody on this forum (the search facility is great).
