Unhappy Linux_Logo Program on $LFS

Has any of you $LFS users installed the program Linux_logo? If you have can you please explain how you got it to start on boot-up? After reading the instructions I still am left scratching my head.

I installed it succesfully but can't get it to start on boot up.

a normal /etc/rc.local file contains:

if [ -x /usr/bin/linux_logo ];then
/usr/bin/linux_logo -c -n -f | sed -e 's|\\|\\\\|g' > /etc/issue
echo "" >> /etc/issue
else
> /etc/issue

bluecadet,

Thanks for the info, but I have one more question.

"/usr/bin/linux_logo -c -n -f | sed -e 's|\\|\\\\|g' > /etc/issue "

In the above section that I pulled from your reply what is the reason for the bolded section?

as for the sed, it'll replace \\ with \\\\ no idea why tho.... and the redirection is cos it's the /etc/issue file that is displayed on the console login screen. see what you've got there already.. if LFS would use a defult...
