Linux Lite Running 'LIVE"
I think I'd like to run LL "live" but when I tried to, it was plagued with constant lags and freezes. Also, it took an excruciatingly long time to run updates, D/l's and installs. I used to have LM 17.3 on this pendrive and never experienced the problems I'm having with LL. So, #1. Can LL be run 'live"? If so, how do I alleviate the lags and slowness? And last, DO NOT try to blame the pendrive...it worked fine when LM 17.3 was on it and I've since tested and it's working at the same levels it had previously. If LL is not suitable to running live, could someone direct me a reputable site that would get me the latest D/l of Knoppix! The one I D/led yesterday was from 2012!!
THANK YOU
Rick

I always recommend AntiX - http://antix.mepis.org/index.php?title=Main_Page
Might be worth your time for a look.

RE: fatmac
Thank You for the link. Yes, it was "worth my time" to take a look. I had never heard of AntiX. After reading the article, it sounds very much like Linux Lite.(?)
I have yet to decide which distro I'm going to employ. Which ever it may be will have to be stable, as this is the reason for my inquiry here. I'm running 18.3 Xcfe and having major lag/freeze issues. Perhaps the latest LM family(18.+) is not suited to run "live". Or, it's possible there's some 'bug" I've encountered...IDK?
I would have thought LinuxLite would have been optimal, but it too, encounters lag. Anyway, THANX for your response/info!

Re:DavidMcCann
Thank You for the link. Is this the latest(9/18/17)? 8 months ago? Hmmm... May I inquire as to your experience (if any) with Knoppix. and/or AntiX and Linux Lite?
I was surprised LL had lag issues. Gonna give both AntiX and Knoppix a "test run". I can't say why or how, but when I "searched" for the Knoppix D/l, it sent me to a page that was 6 y/o.

DavidMcCann & Everyone:
Don't ask me why it failed me the other night, but I "searched" again and this came up: http://iso.linuxquestions.org/knoppi...-2017-09-05-en

I will, now, mark this thread solved. This is how I solved the problem. I went to LM18.3x, ran "updates" then: apt-cdrom. Somehow, this stabilized the O.S. and now, I seldom get lag/freeze. I realize there are inherit problems running "live", but excessive lagging/freezing should not be one of them. If someone were just "trying" the O.S. to get a feel of it, this lagging/freezing would certainly be a major deterrent.
