Linux Distros for Technicians
I use MINT for its software so I could work with my hardware and software but I dont know much about these different distros. I perfer its look over Ubuntu and Debian, but I dont like that you cant have multiple desktops but that dosnt matter. Ive seen Debian and Ubuntu, I tried a copt of Fedora robotics but I didnt have any of the MINT Cinnamon software on it. I was wondering what the difference is between the MATE and Cinnamon distros.

What do you mean by cannot have multiple desktops? You can have multiple workspaces in Mint the same as any other distribution. You can also install the Cinnamon desktop environment in Debian and Ubuntu if you wish (though since they're all based upon Debian you might as well stick with Mint Cinnamon if you like it). You can use Cinnamon on Fedora too, by the looks of it:

I am not aware of any GUIs that do not have multiple desktops.

MATE and Cinnamon are GUIs, specifically desktop environments (DE). Although most distributions have a default GUI that is included with the installation ISO, any distribution can use any GUI, and several GUIs can be installed on the same system. Just install one or two GUIs on your Mint system, check them out, remove them if you do not like them. Continue until you find the one you like best.
