I think FSF will shortly ban the lindows if it continues to practice GPLviolations, as for BSD license you have to read through it really, its like what 10 lines long? IT IS NOT GPL, as for GPL everything you included in your code that is originally GPL'd must be released as GPL or more flexible LGPL. The other story with beta releases. But binary distributions such as lindows, must make it open source, otherwise lawsuits will come. Don't think that GPL only takes MS licensing practices in all arms, FSF won't tolerate the violations of intellectual property.

where did I say that BSD = GPL??
anyway.. there must be some kinde source with lindows isnt it?
yes I did more reading about GPL and they are indeed against the law if they don't keep it open, but there's no source available???
No there isn't.That because lindows is in 'beta status'.At least that is what lindows has to say about it.
I myself wouldn't be too concerned about this BUT - if they already screw all the people that made 'their OS' possible what they gonna do about me as a 'paying betatester'.'Screw you moron' comes to mind.
I just refuse to get excited about stuff like palladium and then throw my money down the drain to a bunch of guys like those.

I really like Lycoris Desktop/LX, too, but I have nothing against Lindows.com or their OS, LindowsOS. I think it is simply a different approach to making another desktop alternative. I think what's been missing in the market are some good desktop alternatives, so I applaud that we're starting to see alternatives. I hope we see even more alternatives. That gives us choice, and it also gives us leverage in getting better software from multiple sources.
These things tend to level out over time, and the most socially accepted approaches tend to bubble to the top at that time, leaving other alternatives to fade. I'm not ready to predict what will last. At this stage, I think we've yet to find a final, salient alternative, but we're getting closer and better all the time.
