Latest Kubuntu versions

I want to install 14.04 LTS 64-bit intel Kubuntu or possibly 14.1 testing. It is very confusing on the Kubuntu site

I downloaded only two isos I could:

1. kubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso
Why is there no intel 64-bit choice like usual

2. kubuntu-plasma5-14.10-beta1-desktop-amd64.iso
Why is there no intel 64-bit choice like usual

I'll be darned if I can find a 64-bit intel iso, not possible that Kubuntu only supports 64-bit AMD right?

Also is 14.1 the same as Plasma 5. Is this the same a tech preview?

Can one just install 14.1/plasma5 to hard drive and have a usable even if unstable os?

I also can't find any 13.1* intel 64-bit download sources. It also appears the only LTS 14.04 is 32-bit in intel 1-386. How could that be? I still have a 13.1 64-bit intel dvd if it still works.

Thanks

when it comes to downloading linux, you will be just fine if you select 64bit, amd version will work just fine on your 64bit intel processor.

Well that's interesting naming conventions to put amd into a intel purposed iso name. I never seen that in all the isos I've downloaded over time.

I've also smoked a lot of DVDs recently trying out some recent distros and did'nt want to wast more(see other post of mine). So kubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso is LTS good for either intel or amd? Ok I've still got some blanks, thank.

no need to smoke dvds to get linux tested/installed, you can burn linux to usb flash with unetbootin and boot from there.

I'm aware you can but I seen somewhere USB2 doesn't work well and my newest computer of about 6 is 2008 which I believe is USB 2. Now if you can say USB2 is fine and recommend an adequate USB drive capacity (mine are old and small) I'll buy one. I'm not sure if new flash drives play well with USB2 ports either. It's been in the back of my mind to sort that question out, maybe you know.
