Kodachi

Hi,
This is my second show at posting this. I hope this this is the correct place.

I have downloaded the latest Kodcahi 6.0 as an iso. I downloaded it twice as I was having trouble with the first one, and the second as it turned out. I have burnt the iso to a usb with both balena etcher and rufus yet when I load this to boot from it it gets to the grub menu and then a message that tells me something like 'no kernel loaded'. It won't let me load any of the options in the grub menu. Likewise, I can't load the iso into Oracle VM as it just hangs and hangs.

I am no Linux expert but I loaded and checked out countless distros before and have never had a drama like this. I have googled etc and I can't see to get to the bottom of this. Any help here is much appreciated.

Thanks

1. Is your hardware 64-bit? Kodachi is 64-bit only.

2. Did you check the CRC of your ISO after download to ensure that you got a GOOD AND COMPLETE download?

3. Have you tried Easy 2 Boot (E2B)? E2B does not require burning, once you prep the USB device you jsut copy the ISO files into the proper place. This avoids any burning issues.

5. can you use that usb on another host?

Kodachi

Thank you for your replies. Firstly, yes, I am running 64 bit systems. I did check the CRCs on not one but two isos that I downloaded, and I downloaded from the official download site: https://www.digi77.com/linux-kodachi/ - one from sourceforge and one from the European mirror. Having burnt a total of 4 different usbs (two for each iso and then again one with rufus and one with balena) I get the same message on two laptops both Dell, one 6530 and one 6430 (I have booted lots of different distros of these two without a drama). So I'm buggered if I know what is happening.

What is just as frustrating is the the official site has email (and even bug reporting) disabled. Pretty strange. And not much documentation.

As Monty Python would say: "Run away! Run away!".

Use PowerISO

PowerISO litterally works all the time for me im using Kodachi currently and booted it from a usb I made using PowerISO I think Rufus is broken because it has litterally never worked for me and balena only worked for me when I was flashing rpi stuff so
