kernel 2.6.0 and Suse 9 looking for fstab, modprobe, sysfs

I installed the 2.6.1 kernel over Suse 9 but can get hotplug to work, usb devices not hotplugging. Would appreciate if anyone with Suse and new kernel-2.6.0 could give me their fstab.conf, modprobe.conf and hotplug config files and tell me how to configure sysfs. Apparantly you have to add a line in the file that configures /proc at startup according to linuxformat but they didn't say which file that is in Suse. Appriate it if you have info on hotplug.
