Is it legal?!?
Is it legal to buy Mandrake 9 or any of the other popular/commercial flavours of Linux via a third-party selling copies they've created themselves?
I found a guy selling Mandrake 9 for NZ$17 on an auction site, but I notice Mandrake asks for financial support when attempting a download from their website.
Not that I can download it anyway with my 56K modem...confused.
if the guy is just blatantly selling CDR's burnt with the mandrake ISO files then that's fine, i think it becomes potentnailly dubious if he's trying to pass them off as auhentic, which would be a silly thing to do anyway
if the distro is downloaded off the interenet and burnt to cd,s , one thing to note is that it will differ in that if you won,t get the applications cd, i believe it only comes with mandrakes retail version. i am waiting for mandrake 9 powerpack to released, hoping soon
Two post - two adverts. Offering your services is great but I hope your not just going to advertise your site in reply to every question where someone wants a distro!
Buy the distro from MDK official shop, then you can get their support. but maybe a little expensive. Download and resell their distro is legal. You needn't to worry about it.
To me, $9 is very expensive, and I would not buy it. I perfer to downloading it over FTP.
One blank CD-R cost almost 0.2$, if you buy much more it will be more cheap .I bought 100 pieces cost about 14$. Use your money carefully!
