is it a problem when my liveUSB installer does this on a hard drive installation?
This is something I've seen live media of Debian-based distros do occasionally, and I've never been sure how much of a problem it is. The new hard drive installation will have the icon on the desktop to install the distro, and therefore a copy of the installation program (Calamares, MX installer or what-have you). I saw MX do it to me a few times (not recently); and now I saw it in a new installation of Peppermint. As though the hard drive installation thinks it is the live medium. Can I just ignore this (and delete the icon and Calamares--why would I want those on my hard drive?) Or does it indicate that I have a failed installation and I need to try again?
I'm leaving the Peppermint installation alone until I know whether I can trust it. I was planning to update all the existing software, add what I want, install Refracta, and then take a snapshot.
