You got me lost on that one, in the sense that you want to PUT MANDRAKE (which distribution level# IDUNNO!) from another hard drive (eide ATAPI) I believe (or are you using SCSI ??) onto your present PC-BOX . Do you have a CD_ROM on on your BOX "Urinater" that would make it a Hell of a lot easier to do ,IT is the ONLY way I could put mine in(without sending the BOX to a
tech shop.

Do you self a favor "urinatoer" go over to the nearest DOLLAR TREE Chain dollar store and pick yourself up a copy of QUAKE 3 -THE ARENA -LINUX VERSION , inside you will geta FREE ,YES FREE!! Copy of SuSe LINUX 6.3 , it autoloads beautifully onto a domestic PC-BOX (compaq)

Try iT!!

Ok your talking to me like I am an idiot. And i do not think i deserve that. I was simply wondering if it was possible to make a Mandrake 9 installation on a machine with no cd-rom. is that so difficult to understand ? I know you can do this with some distros like peanut and i was wondering if you can do it with mandrake as well. Thanks for being a rude snotty bastard.

Yes it is possible. You will need to download the iso images (just as you would if you were going to burn them) onto a partition that will not be used for the installation.

You then need to download a specific install boot floppy used for a HD install. This will be at the same FTP site you use to get the iso's, but will be in a directory called "boot images" or something similar (can't remember exactly right now).

There is documentation for the specifics you should check out at the mandrake website. This should get you started...

Good luck.
