Install PCLinuxOS from hard disk??

I'm wondering if we can install PCLinuxOS from hard disk, since I don't have CD/DVD drive in this old machine of mine (can't boot from usb either). Mandriva and other linux distro have this option but PCLinuxOS seem to have only Live CDs.

Thanks.

When you say "from hard disk", I assume you mean install from the .iso file (CD image). The problem is that you would have to have an OS running that would support the installer script. In the typical Linux install, there is a small instance of Linux running the machine---the installer program runs in this environment.

Why not get a CD/DVD reader? they are really cheap. REALLY cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCateg...=CD-DVD-Drives

You could also install a VM on Windows and then install Linux there. Even in that situation, I'm not sure how you would do it without a CD

If you are prepared to change your distro choice, Wubi allows you to install Ubuntu from Windows.
