Mandrake is basically as flexible as any linux distrobution. The problem is that it gives new users many grafical ways of fixing common problems that dont nessesarily fix the problems the right way. Its file system is also not completely linux standard (redhat's too btw) so this can cause some problems. Also its a rpm bassed distro so the software is not optimized for the machine. It is also a very bulky distro and thus runs slower then others.

For the most part you can do everything the same on Mandrake as with other distros. It just gives the lazy man a way to do the things without getting their hands dirty, and alows you to use linux without really learning it.

See my signature.
If I was buulding workstaton (as apposed ot servers).
I would use Mandrake or Redhat. Because they are really
good at seeing hardward like video/sound and stuff. And
Redhat has "kickstart" instllall program that allows you to
pretty much script and install.

On the other hand if I was build a couple of servers I would use Slackware or Debain because they are simpler
and cleaner installs. Ok Debian isn't a simpler install but
it's a leaner/meaner install
