I want my main menu to be detailed
Hi all
Well, how may I have my main menu (KDE- RedHat 7.3) to be a detailed one.
For example, I want my applications menu to show abiword and xemacs and the like, I want all other submenues to be detailed ones too, how may I do this.
Also, I used to have abiword to open automatically my .doc files, now I am prsented with an open with menu....why?
Thak you very much

I'm not sure if this is appropriate for whichever version of kde you're using (i'm on 3.1) but right click the kde menu icon and select menu editor which will allow you to manually add apps to your menu and also customize it. Alternatively you can run kappfinder which will automatically update the menu with installed apps. Doesn't always get all of them but does an ok job.
Not sure about why with the Abiword problem but on the popup there should be a box you can check which says something like "remember this association". There is also the File Associations section under KDE Components in the Control Centre which can be used to manually add the correct application for the file type
