If you would stop and think about what you were saying instead of flying off the handle you would see there is no possible way anyone new to linux would know what would be needed to compile from source, I have used windows for years and can't ever remember typing in ./configure --prefix=/usr at anytime, so why would someone coming from that OS know ANYTHING about linux/unix?
