I am looking for a distro that is compatible with HP pavillion zv6000
I am very interested in learning to use a Linux. I have an HP Pavillion zv6000. I installed Fedora Core 3 on it but It would not detect my wireless card.I also tried Ubuntu and it would not recognise my graphics card. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out by helping me install a compatible distro and rescue me from Microsoft.Even a point in the right direction will help.I am in Iraq right now and I am determined to use my downtime to learn to operate a Linux. Thanx
Distribution: Windows XP, yup :D Will be back onto Ubuntu probably someday

I'm not sure of a compatible distro, but if you can get a hold of Live CDs, they let you run Linux from the CD without installing. Great for testing hardware before going through an installation.
I think Gentoo is a generally hardware compatible distro, but takes a while to install (I think it has to compile everything?!)
it is not matter of which distro can be installed on your computer as all of them use the exact same core. what you have to look for is whether there are linux drivers for your hardware. i personally use suse10.0 and it works for me, i dunno if it works for you or not.
