I'm looking for Linux Distributions...

All the major distributions that I have tried are:

Ubuntu - Great my primary operating system.
SuSE 10.1 - Ok
Fedora Core 5 - Not so good...
Archlinux - A little complex but fairly good
Gentoo - Great but some hardware didn't work
Debian Etch - Network card was not detected

I'm looking for something that us easy to use but very customizable. I have used Linux for 7 months so I know my way around.

I have a laptop that I use at home and I'm thinking of trying Archlinux again, since I didn't have much time to use it.

Maybe try Slackware or CRUX.

I don't quite understand what you are looking for. You say that Ubuntu is great but you are looking for something (else) that is easy to use and customisable. What is wrong with customising Ubuntu? In what ways do you wish to make a distro your own ---- what do you wish to customise? I think that any distro would meet your needs ie if you can do x with one distro then you can do x with another. I am sorry if I am missing the point here, I really am.

Sir,

from your post It seems to me that any Linux distro will do what you want, however what do you want it for? the Best I can do is reccomend PCLinuxOS to you. Why? because put simply Everything just works, Great Multimedua setup, sound and fuctionality all on one CD. this Works as a live CD but can be installed at a later date if desired

enjoy,

Jake

I would try Arch - it has ended my distro shuffle. A bit difficult to learn on the front end, but the knowledge tends to pay off later. (and it is VERY customisable.)
