Hwo to boot into gui on SuSE 8.1
 
I want to but into a graphical user login so i can selct the window mangers i want at the time. How would I go about doing this on SuSE 8.1?

sorry buddy, a bit confused...

Locate your /etc/inittab file and see if you can find a line in there that looks something like:

# Default runlevel. (Do not set to 0 or 6)
id:3:initdefault:

You will wanna change that to 5 (depending on what the rest of the file says).

If this isn't what you meant... Please clarify it for me :)

If you have questions on what to change the 3 (or whatever number is there) to, then post the output of:
cat /etc/inittab (which will just display the file to the prompt for you, you can copy and paste it that way without opening the file, but if this causes you problems, go ahead and open it and copy and paste it)

And then I can tell you from there.
